20 spool blocks completely pieced and trimmed! The pattern is from Fig Tree & Co (part of her Craftsy class) and the fabric is Bake Sale by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet. #beeinmybonnet #figtreeco #sewmystash2015

I managed to squeeze in a little bit of EPP on my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. This project is nearly two years old so I need to pick up the speed 😄 LOL #epp #englishpaperpiecing #bonnieandcamille #GFG

This quilt is for my granddaughter, Gracie and she can't wait to get it home! I have to choose borders and then quilt it...so she has a little while to wait! I used Bonnie & Camille's Happy-Go-Lucky fabric line and the pattern is by Camille Roskelley.
Piece N Quilt Sew-Along Progress: Week 2
I am really having fun with this Sew-Along, although I really can't keep up with a block a day! Here are three more (for a total of 7) that I completed this week.

I have several goals this year and two of them are to use my fabric stash and to improve my piecing skills. Well, I decided to join two sew-alongs that Natalia is having. This post is about the 30 blocks in 30 days sew-along. It is a lot of fun and I love seeing others work too.
Here are the first four blocks I have completed this week:
Monday Morning Star Count 2015/2
Yes, it's Saturday, not Monday! Just another crazy work week in technology and so here I am posting on Saturday, what I should have posted on Monday! I spent the week jumping between several projects in my down time and made progress on each. I will post the other projects separately and focus on my EPP here.
I decided to lay out sections, stitch each section, and then I will put the sections together. It is actually looking great and I will work on stitching at least one of the large sections to the main quilt top this week. Although, there are so many quilt alongs and projects floating in myhead that I am fairly confident that I have quilting ADD!
Linking up with Jessica at Life Under Quilts for EPP motivation!

In 2015, I am going to focus on finishing my projects and top on my list is my Grandmother's Flower Garden. I made a lot of progress in 2014 - thanks to all of my EPP friends and the encouragement sent my way.
The quilt currently measures about 45" x 55" and it is for a queen bed, so I still have some stitching to do!
I am really looking forward to 2015 and linking up with Jessica at Life Under Quilts!

I am working on a quilt called "Piece of Cake 3" by Camille Roskelley. I decided to use her fabric line "Happy-Go_Lucky for Moda.

Mother/Daughter Sewing Time
I spent some time with my daughter this morning for her first sewing lesson! She has wanted to start sewing and really needs a quilt for her bed so I decided to show her the quilt as you go modern method. There is a great book on this method:
And here is my daughter working on her very first block:
And here is the finished block:
So proud of her!!

My First Project of 2015
I have so many projects to finish, but I wanted to start off 2015 with a project that I have been yearning to try....free motion quilting. Now I have tried this before, but was really encouraged when I picked up Christina Cameli's book - First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting.
I chose to complete a small sign - about 8x9.5" - to hang near my sewing machine. I free motion quilted this on my Baby Lock Jane.
I feel so proud that I was able to complete the project in just a few hours and that I didn't give up! I really enjoyed the process and I stayed relaxed! If you are interested in free motion quilting, you have to pick up this book! You can purchase the hard copy or the kindle version...I have both!
