Well I am making progress! Woo hoo! I have not worked on my EPP as much, but it seems like I am on a roll now!

Spool Quilt is Quilted!

I loaded up the spool quilt this morning and quilted away. This is only my fifth quilt on my Avante so I certainly need more practice, but I am feeling more comfortable. I may even try pantographs!

Gracie's First Quilt In Progress

Saturday, February 21, 2015 No comments

She sure picks up quick and she remembered everything from a few months ago. She went over all the controls before she started and it was so cute! She is doing a great job and I am having so much fun with her! This is actually going to be a picnic blanket for her stuffed animals. So more like a mini quilt. And why is that? Because she wanted to save all the dog fabric for her EPP hexagons! Too funny!

Gracie's First Quilt

Gracie chose Puppy Love by Greta Lynn for Benartex and she is so excited to get started. This will be her first quilt and she really struggled with using the sewing machine versus english paper piecing. I talked her into the sewing machine because I really want her to get comfortable with her machine. Love spending time with my granddaughter!

Dog Crate Cover Design in Progress!

I love designing on the fly :) so much fun just creating and not following a pattern.

Dog Crate Cover - The Beginning

Half-square triangle blocks are pressed and dog ears removed. I absolutely adore these colors. Now for measuring and arrangement...basically playing!

New Project in Progress!

Just finished stitching 80 half-square triangle units. The fabric is Zoe by Jennifer Young for Benartex. This is going to be a dog crate cover for my Scrappy (he's the cutest Mini-Schnauzer ever)!

Spool Quilt Top is Complete!

I really had fun making this one. The pattern was part of a Craftsy class with Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts and the fabric is called Bake Sale by Lori Holt. Now I just have to decide what type of quilting pattern I will use.

Sunday Morning EPP

A little Sunday morning english paper piecing. The snow is flying and the winds are howling. Although the snow is getting old, I do love living in New England! After all, the Governor ordered everyone off the roads so it means I am 'forced' to stitch!

Spool Quilt Sashing

Well, I finished the block sashing today. Tomorrow I will work on the outer border and sawtooth border. Fun!

Sawtooth Border for Spool Quilt

Well, the snow is already falling and we are expecting another 12" or so by Monday, which makes it a great weekend to stay in and quilt! I am working on a saw tooth border for my spool quilt today, but have a lot of ideas in my head for other projects! Hoping I can stay focused and finish something :).

Wiggling Quilt Update

I managed to finish the the main part of the quilt top tonight. I just need to add some side borders and then it is ready for quilting! My grandson is going to love it! The Boat House fabric by Sweetwater for Moda is just beautiful!

Wiggling Quilt

A quilt for my grandson! It is a pattern from Modern One Block Quilts called Wiggling Quilt. I love the way the blocks float. The fabric is The Boat House by Sweetwater for Moda. At the halfway point and hoping to finish the other half tomorrow night after work.

Monday Morning Star Count 2015/6

It's been a little slow moving...I have been battling pneumonia for a couple of weeks so not a lot of progress, but finally a couple of days ago I started feeling motivated! I added a few more flowers and I am looking forward to stitching this section to the main section this week. Feeling very fortunate to be linking up with Jessica at Life Under Quilts! Your encouragement keeps me chugging along!
